"Once again my bike sat too long and needed a carb clean, new battery, and a few other minor things. I really didn't want to have to tow my bike in to a shop, so I decided to try Flying Wrenches. Chris came out a few days later and got my bike up running in a couple of hours. It fires right up and sounds great. Convenient, friendly service, and the price matched the estimate. Hard to beat that!"

"This is by far the best motorcycle mechanic I've dealt with in austin ( or anywhere). He has worked on my bike twice both times the service and price were amazing. However circumstances like this set him apart.
My motorcycle is my primary vehicle backed up by a 10 speed bike. Last night on my way home something hit my foot but it was late so I parked it and went inside and went to sleep. In the morning i found that my front brake assembly had become disengaged from my disc. Both nuts were gone and I had to get on my 10 speed and ride to work. Before I left I called Flying wrenches. He said he would come over to my house and check it out but that it might be hard to find the hardware on a Saturday. By the time I got to work, 45 minutes later he had gone to my house diagnosed my bike and fixed it with extra parts he keeps on hand. I preface this by saying every other mechanic would have put me in que and had the bike fixed probably on monday. He fixed it 45 minutes IN MY DRIVEWAY. I work on my bike alot and know what was invovled and I could not have asked for a better result. This guy is fast, proffesional and the best deal in town. I have ALWAYS ridden a motorcycle and cant recommend Flying Wrenches highly enough. Seriously, call him first. If for some reason you dont call him first then at least call for his quote, it will be lower, more convenient and the outcome will be better. He is the best in town, no doubt about it."FIVE STARS***** Zachary H. Austin,TX

"On Christmas, we discovered that a scooter that we had bought for our daughter back in October (worked perfectly then) would crank and idle, but it would die the moment that the throttle was applied. I searched around and called several scooter repair shops (including the local SYM-authorized dealer). Obviously, all were closed. I left messages with several, but none called back or responded. None, that is, EXCEPT Chris. I had sent him an email via his web site. He responded to my email the morning that he got back. I called him to discuss the problem, and he said that it sounds like a simple (and common) issue.
We set up an appointment for late Saturday morning. Chris came out and quickly pulled the carburetor. Within minutes, he showed me the clogged jet. He took time to explain how it happened and (most importantly) how to prevent it. He quickly cleaned out the rest of the carburetor and put everything back together. After reconnecting the kill switch (wink), the bike cranked up and ran smoothly. All of this occurred in around 45 minutes. It would have been faster than that if we didn't discover that we had grown up in the same SMALL town in South Carolina. Small world, huh?
He charged a VERY fair price and even honored a http://yp.com 10% labor discount that I had printed off. I couldn't be happier with Chris and wouldn't hesitate to call him again if the need arises. I wholeheartedly recommend him."FIVE STARS***** Troy W. Austin,TX
"Chris was awesome. He's always on schedule and is always very reasonably priced and helpful. He went way beyond the call of duty in assisting me with my temperamental chopper. If my bike ever needs work, he will be hearing from me."

"Can't say enough good things. I had a rear tire blow out on 45, had the bike towed home and started looking into options. Kept coming back to Flying Wrenches, so I gave him a call for a quick estimate. He was quick to suggest that I purchase my tires online as there are huge tire markups in Austin, which I was able to confirm through my own research. Got the tires in and gave him a call, he was up front saying that he would prefer to make his way to Pflugerville on Saturday as he already had an appointment in the area that day and it's easier. I was happy to oblige because I knew he was going to save me plenty not having to rent a trailer, borrow a truck, and track down a decent motorcycle shop. He showed up at the house right on time, was happy to throw on the brake pads that I'd also purchased and generally provided great customer service. He was up front in saying that he doesn't dispose of the tires and with all said and done, it cost me about $144 ($65 service fee, $77 in labor, $2 for other fees) for installation of 2 tires, along with front and rear brakes. Afterwards, I threw him a couple questions about another bike we have in the garage with a bad engine, and I'm definitely comfortable with coming back to him to have that one worked on, also!"

"Chris Porter (owner of Flying Wrenches Mobile Power) just finished working on the carburetors on my 1983 Kawasaki GPZ 750. He did an outstanding job! He is very professional and went out of his way, (literally) to help me, as I live in Driftwood and he came from Austin. If I could give Chris 10 stars, I would. Not only did he provide such wonderful service but I feel like I have a new friend. If you ever need any kind of motorcycle work done, don't hesitate to call Chris. His character is beyond reproach!"
